In Japan in 1994, the QR code was invented at the ‘Denso
Wave’ automotive products company. influenced by the black
counters and white counters played on a ‘Go’ board.
The pattern of position detection was found and determined
by applying the least-used ratio (1:1:3:1:1) in black and white
areas on printed matter, which cannot be misidentified by an
optical scanner.
The original functional purpose of the QR code system was to
keep track of the types and numbers of automotive parts.
